The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always discover forgiveness. - Honore de Balzac

I think I love Loki because he is so unapologetically sassy and evil. Sure, he has a rather sad back story, but it’s what he does with his lifelong resentment of his brother that makes the movie.
Honestly, a lot of people like him because he’s misunderstood & under-appreciated, and so many of them can relate to him since almost everyone has felt that way in some way or another. But that’s only one piece of the pie, and many people forget the main reason Loki is so appealing: despite all this hurt and pain, he still is a badass motherfucker who don’t take no shit from nobody. (I mean, why do you think he decided to banish Thor? He wanted what was denied from him his entire life.. to be king.) That idea of control and power is kind of sexy, and I get why so many people like him, even though at the end of the day he’s a really bad person who made all the wrong decisions.
I think in a way, a lot of us wish we were like Loki… that despite all of the shit we went through with our family during our childhood, we still want to be like him in Thor and Avengers—someone who reeks with confidence and sexual appeal.
However, the way Tom plays him, he’s got a tongue of silver, dripping with sexuality, but somehow still has those puppy dog eyes that makes everyone go “awww!”
So that’s why I like him, I guess!
